April Fool's Day 2004

April Fool's Day 2004 was a subject of much controversy, as the forum staff had initially conspired to stage some fake drama and make it appear as though there was heavy antagonism among the staff members. Some of the regulars, such as Sassafrass and Musharraf, were recruited to be part of the ruse. The plan was set in motion with a staged quarrel in IRC, which then spread on to threads in the forums. Particularly memorable was NYRSkate's dramatic "resignation" from staff.

Unfortunately, as April 1 drew nearer, the situation began spiralling out of control, with some of the drama hitting far too close to home. Tempers flared, and the abrupt incarceration of one of the participating staff members, OctoberOmicron, placed a huge damper on the proceedings. Thus, a new plan was quickly formulated at the last minute, leading to Gamingfrance.

On April 1st, members woke up to a forum decorated with the garish colours of the French national flag. Face, the sole Frenchman on staff, was in charge of converting all the forum titles and descriptions to French for the event. Good times were had by everyone, except those who wasted no time in complaining about the banality of it all.

a lurker meticulously planned out what would have been the greatest practical joke on GFF: making her "account" password public for wanton abuse by members. Unfortunately her joke fell flat when seanne changed the password, a foolish act that earned her eternal wrath.

The boards also saw the return of Teh Mighty Red Fish.
