April Fool's Day 2006

The event

Nothing actually happened.

RABicle ran around with a dupe account originally named 6w¥leblack for about an hour until an unidentified admin hijacked it and continued the be silly but that got old.

A while later, every member was promoted to "administrator". Users appeared to be an admin, although no actual power was given. In addition, scrolling marquee user-names were handed out to everybody, with the exception of authentic mods. Seizure signatures become very popular. Also a few users were "Banned" with no apparent reason, as part of the show, but they could post like nothing ever happenned. This caused some members to claim their "Admin Power", and others to lose their calm

For a few minutes Skate played around with making users posts come out completely in gibberish as seen here (http://www.gamingforce.com/forums/general-video-gaming/3234-e3-anticipation-thread-post68021.html).

What went wrong

While Kaleb.G began a thread in the Mod Hut on March 2nd for discussion about April Fools 2006, none of the talk ever produced physical results. Initially some ideas were thrown around, but soon afterward the activity in the thread died off for a couple weeks. A couple attempts by Kaleb to resurrect the discussion were met mostly with apathy, especially from Lord Styphon who brought forth such quotes as, "We are doing NOTHING. It's gonna be rad." Before anything was accomplished, April 1st had already arrived.

Some of the ideas in that thread may be used for future April Fools days, so they shall remain undisclosed for now. Though only time will tell.

What went right

RABicle's dupe account was renamed into Tails, taking advantage of the fact that the real Tails was running about as YUKTOBANIA at that time.

It is suspected that this prompted both Tails and Colonel Skills to reclaim their proper usernames a few days later.
