Audio Requests

As the title says, a forum where you can place requests for all sorts of music (or audio in general) files. Usually, entire albums get requested, but also single file requests are often placed. The most common format request is MP3, but other formats like the lossless compression format FLAC or even uncompressed WAV are also the subject (or object, if you will) of requests. MIDI requests however are very sparse, mostly revolving around ringtone requests.

In the past, request fulfilling was mostly limited to outside means, like instant messagers (AIM, ICQ), or to uploading the requested file to an FTP server of one of GFF's members (Rogue/Harlequin set up his FTP for this purpose). Now however, with free temporary uploading service usch as YouSendit (http://www.yousendit.com), MegaUpload (http://www.megaupload.com) or RapidShare (http://www.rapidshare.de) available, fulfilling request has become a much easier task.

But even such a mundane matter like requesting music files isn't safe from disturbances: People who are either unable or unwilling to inform themselves about the release date of major video game or movie soundtracks (or to read the thread five entries above about the same soundtrack) request these soundtracks weeks or months before it is actually released to the public. This retardedness reached its peak during the Advent Children Hysteria in the late summer of 2005.
