2003:

"We each have a canvas to carve an impression into. Who makes the best use of their material?" -- Sword Serenity

2004:

"Cast adrift amongst a sea of names and print, it's no surprise that many of us rely upon avatar and signature recognition in order to spot some member's posts. Some sigs and avatars, combined with a witty custom title, stand out above others, however, due to the sheer cleverness or twisted thinking that went into creating them. Most of us can barely cobble together a Warhol and they're putting us to shame with DaVincis.

2007:

"Aside from our wacky user names, we identify each other here primarily by each other's avatars and signatures. Actually that's not necessarily true, I browse with avs and sigs disabled but whatever, I've still got one and you all know what I mean.

For some, any old avatar picture will do, so long as the girl in it has been drawn with big eyes and silly colored hair. Then it's a quick trip to a fansite for the manga you just lifted the av from for a suitable sig pic and you're done. For others though, the crafting of avatars and signatures is a labor of love with hours of thought and effort going into each one.

This award is for the member who has consistently through the year made the best use of their avatar and signature space." -- Shin
