History

Dinoteam was initially established by SonnyD64 as a method of trolling already trolled threads. The idea was taken from the Something Awful Forums (http://www.somethingawful.com/forums) website. The trolling consisted of certain members flooding the ruined thread with images of dinosaurs and nothing else. A colour scheme was supposed to be followed, but rarely was.

DISGRACETeam

During the raging pedophilia/child love debate in which Dinoteam was summoned to put an end to, Crash Landon posted a multiple Dino post, causing Pom to step up and set things straight:

You can't fucking multiple dinosaur in one post. FUCK YOU GUYS, DISGRACE TEAM. --Pom

This name would haunt Pom forever when Team Awesome adopted the use of the name in reference to Dinoteam shortly thereafter.

The Meteor/End of Dinoteam

At 5:52 AM on November 23, 2005 (UTC), Pom, annoyed by a recent string of Dinoteam failures in which they were unable to derail a thread in which they were assembled, summoned a giant meteor (http://www.gamingforce.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78955) to bring an end to Dinoteam before its reputation could be tarnished further. Whether all members are extinct or will some day make a glorious comeback has yet to be determined.

Effect

Normally at Gamingforce, trolling is supposed to be unacceptable, although it is still rarely an enforced rule. This causes many threads, normally very popular ones, to break out into arguments and topics that have no relation to the original thread's reason for creation. A simple way to stifle these problems was a quick assembling of the Dinoteam. The quick onslaught of dinosaur images would cause everyone to ignore prior arguments and post dinosaur pictures. Thus, the trolling would stop, and the thread would be vaulted into Dinoteam's legendary victim's list.

Dinoteam also spawned imitators such as DonutTeam.

Dinoteam Members

While the Dinoteam always had innocent bystanders join in, there was an original team who would be "summoned" in order to spark a Dinoteam assault on a thread. These glorious warriors were:

Dinoteam Victims

Here are some notable threads that were Dinoteam'd. Note that some of the images might not be hosted any longer, but the effect is still present.

Note that the Dino Spam Celebration was split; the joyous catastrophe is available here (http://gamingforce.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76435&page=1&pp=25)

Sometimes the Dinoteam call was unsuccessful, as demonstrated by the following threads:
