In many ways Marcel was a Lord Styphon-type admin, save for the fact that it always seemed Marcel didn`t care if his moderation got in the way of harmless fun and community developement.

History

At some point in March of 2001 a newbie made a thread asking about how to access files on the IDrive (the file-sharing website Gamingforce Audio used at the time) page, not realizing the page was down. Dyhalto, taking advantage of the situation, informed the newbie that he would have to search online for the "IDriver" program to be able to access IDrive's files. Soon, many members came to the thread to lead this gullible newbie on, and much fun was had... Until Marcel noticed the thread, and before closing it, said something along the lines of "you guys are having too much fun, this thread is closed."

Apparently Dyhalto had had many problems with Marcel before this, and he quickly made a thread (with the Nazi inference of Marcel invading Poland) massively flaming and complaining about Marcel. Oddly enough, Marcel didn't respond to the thread or even close it. Nothing was done... Until the next morning when Gamingforce was wiped clean. Fortunately, bobo had a four day old backup and Gamingforce quickly recovered. Marcel, however, was removed from the administratorship. Another moderator, Silverlocke, a real life friend of Marcel'a also left Gamingforce. At the time the explanation was that Silverlocke had told Marcel that the community treated him badly and he should do something to avenge himself... So Marcel deleted Gamingforce under Silverlocke's advice.

Early in 2004 OctoberOmicron found a person in #gfchat claiming to be Marcel. After verifying for himself that this was actually Marcel, Marcel claimed that what had really happened was Silverlocke had come over to his house and, after reading the way Dyhalto and company mistreated his friend, used Marcel's admin-panel privileges to wipe the board. Marcel was going to leave anyway due to school, so he never bothered to explain what had really happened. This explanation leaves a lot of holes, but who knows.

  • Marcel was Gamingforce's first and only administrator (not counting bobo of course) before the vBulletin version was introduced January 22nd, 2001.
  • Marcel was the main Villain in Time's Scar, the old Gamingforce RPG.
