History
Created before the 2002 crash of gff, the Naked member pics thread was meant to be an x-rated Sewers version of the Member pics thread in Community Commons. In it, members over 18 were to post images of themselves fully or partially nude. Due to board crashes, the thread has seen 3 incarnatations with each having a revised and stricter rule set. Each thread shared a common theme, that being male members complaining about the inherent lack of female participation.
Female Participation
Since the first incarnation of the thread, only three known female members have actually posted images of themselves in states of complete undress, Mina (who's pictures were hosted on a site she was administrator of and eventually taken down), Galatea (who, deciding it had been a poor choice, removed the pictures and refrained from posting pictures in the third incarnation), and kawaiineko (who claimed to have run her own softcore pornography site with her boyfriend and was alledgedly only posting to show off.)
Male Participation
The male response to the thread has been far more numerous and to catalouge the names of the male posters in each incarnation of the thread would be nearly impossible. The names of males who have posted themselves nude or semi-nude in the current thread are as follows:
Drama
As odd as it may seem, even the posting of simple nudie pictures can stir up drama. The bulk of this comes from the aforementioned male members whining about lack of female pictures. Generally this is accompanied with a bump to the thread after months of inactivity. Even when females did participate, drama ran rampant. Many accused that the only reason for Mina and Galatea placing (respectively) first and second in GFF's 2003 Hottest Female award was their willingness to strip in front of a camera.
Edit from Mina: (Feel free to edit personal comments into the article in 3rd person). I joined in as the second female member to participate in the naked member's thread because Galatea, in our conversation through AIM, was feeling remorse about posting her pictures, but knew it couldn't be undone. I posted mine soon after so that she wouldn't be the only female in the topic with a "naked picture". This split the attention both ways and she felt much better not being alone in the topic. I've taken a lot of flak from members for many years to come for this, but I knew the consequences for helping her out. That's my reason for posting in the topic. I've posted my nude pictures before at other places, so it was nothing new for people to see me naked and it was my chance to help her out the best way I could.
