So you go and get stoned... is a thread created by Locke Cole on August 29th, 2004 in the Chillout Lounge forum. Created with the sole purpose of knowing what other GFFers do while smoking, it eventually bloomed into a long-lived thread with over 1000 posts, almost all of them related in one way or another to marijuana. On Mar 3rd, 2005, it was moved to General Discussion due to the closure of the Chillout Lounge.
It was closed on November 20th, 2005, by AcerBandit for being too "spammy". In turn he created a new thread which was even more "spammy". No one else seemed to have a problem with the original thread. NYRSkate even praised the thread for never being derailed, and always staying on topic. The thread now rests in the General Discussion Archives.
Needless to say, this has caused some tension between participants of this thread and select members of staff.

Controversy
Most of the people can't understand the urge to post "HEY I'M TOKING RIGHT NOW". What they don't know is that for a smoker, lighting up a joint is always an event.
Of course, the many people who "just don't get it" also tend to make posts with the purpose of entertaining others, instead of just themselves, and that any toker who wishes to talk about his magnificent euphoric experience, or just say "Man this is so awesome" can do so in his journal.
The Hotbox Cafe~
An unsuccessful revival of the thread by Locke Cole, the original's creator. It was created December 10th, 2005 at 11:00 PM and promptly shut down by Talbain after only 12 replies on December 13th at 2:30 PM. As a result of this thread, however, AcerBandit went and created #GFStoners, which never made it as a chat room. #stoned is still used on occasion, though, and is frequented by LockeCole, Capo Crimini, and Tawnee Stoner.
