Nah, maybe if it was in some other position on the keyboard, but as it is now it's not possible to mistake tilde for any other key, since it's the leftmost one. Unless one has really fat fingers, maybe. --Aardu-chan 00:46, 16 Oct 2005 (PDT)

It's actually just a gimmick from manga-style dialogue, which is about what you would expect from Lav. Normally it's meant to indicate a continuous sound or tone: "Noooooooooooooo" becomes "No~". The tilde indicates that the preceding sound continues until otherwise indicated. Lav was presumably doing it to be "cute" and nobody else really got the joke.
