Team RTFO
From GFWiki
Team Rock The Fuck On—commonly referred to as Team RTFO or simply RTFO—is an online gaming guild created and run by Gamingforce Interactive Forums members. This guild is primarily focused on the MMORPG Ragnarok Online (http://iro.ragnarokonline.com/) (RO), though it has also been formed by members for use in other games.

History
MobRO
In the early summer of 2004, many members of the IRC channel #icetron became interested in playing RO together, eventually settling on the MobRO (defunct, currently known as DiscoveryRO (http://www.discovery-ro.com/)) private server. This led to the first formation of the guild under Camus. Both the guild name and the logo were suggested by another member, Bunny_Love (formerly Jenneriku). During its formative stages the guild enjoyed a high level of activity from its members, even finding it necessary to get a guild extension to fit more players. The first Ragnarok Online thread in Multiplayer Arena, then a subforum of General Video Gaming, was formed during this period. The thread has since been recreated numerous times and is now in its v5.0 iteration.
Enthusiasm for the game waned in many of the guild members after a number of weeks, and many of them quit outright. Following this, Camus eventually disbanded the guild, leaving to level other characters and join other guilds. Sakabadger eventually recreated the guild under the same name, and Team RTFO took to the fields of Rune-Midgard once more. Composition of the guild at the time consisted primarily of Sakabadger's personal friends, as most GFF members had ceased playing.
Interest in the game also decreased in the second iteration of the guild after a number of months. By the winter of 2004, all the members had essentially ceased playing.
PSIBlade 2.0
In early April of 2005, interest in RO had once more surfaced in a few members. The server of choice this time became PSIBladeRO (http://ro.psiblade.net/), where a few other GFF members had already been playing. On April 20th, the IRC channel #rtfo was created as a place for members to discuss all things RO-related.
After open registration went online and members were able to start playing, members initially gathered in a guild named Gamingforce, led by Benjamin. Upon procurement of the necessary items, Sakabadger once again created Team RTFO, this time in its third iteration. Focus and membership gradually shifted from Gamingforce to Team RTFO until Team RTFO became the dominant guild of the two.
The RO experience on PSIBladeRO for Team RTFO was much more satisfying than it was on MobRO. Thanks to numerous active players and a generally more competent server population, Team RTFO was able to propel itself to a position of respect and power on the server. The guild eventually came to possess many strong players, several valuable items and at one point three different guild castles won in the War of Emperium.
Unfortunately, in early August 2005, the server was crashed repeatedly due to the actions of a certain Spiral Pierce-happy Lord Knight. After the sixth crash, the server was taken offline indefinitely pending the administration team's decision on the future of PSIBlade. Eventually, the team decided to completely wipe the server in correspondance to the change of server software (from vAthena to eAthena). Thus did Team RTFO's exploits on PSIBlade 2.0 come to an end.
PSIBlade 3.0
Following a hiatus of one month while the server admins made a software switch to eAthena (http://eathena.deltaanime.net/), PSIBlade 3.0 was opened to the public in mid-September 2005. Most of the members from 2.0 returned to play, and within 3 days Team RTFO had become the first formed guild on the server, again with Sakabadger at its helm.
Team RTFO had a modest WoE beginning. With the help of the GOD guild, RTFO managed to capture a Geffen guild castle, Bergel. In a following WoE, RTFO also claimed a Payon guild castle, Bamboo Grove Hill. When an allied guild, Revived Wings, disbanded, Team RTFO was on hand to incorporate their members. The merger has resulted in one of the largest and most powerful guilds currently on the server. With the aid of the newly added RW members, Team RTFO was able to capture a third castle in Aldebaran (Hohenschwangau), which is currently the limit on PSIBlade.
In a recent development, a number of Team RTFO members have gone on to accept prestigious positions in the server. Sakabadger, who was made a PSIBlade Forums moderator previously, was promoted to an Administrator as well as an in-game Game Master. Kari-Chan has more recently accepted the role of Lead NPC Scripter.
As of February 2006, Team RTFO underwent yet another merge, this time with ally Almost Heroes, making it the guild with the largest amount of active transcendents on the server.
Team RTFO is still actively slaying seals and mummies all over Rune-Midgard.
Sister Guilds
As numerous players have had multiple characters, the task of fitting them all into the main guild became too great. This necessitated the creation of various sister guilds, or subguilds, into which alternate characters could be housed.
- Team PTFO (PSIBlade 2.0)
<Kari-Chan> moar liek Team PTFO rite <Icetron> u <Nocterayne> lool y u want pantsu off from a dood <Nocterayne> that is certianly QUESTIONABLE <Icetron> WUT <Icetron> It was meant for chix :(
Led by Kari-Chan, PTFO was the original RTFO alternate guild. The commonly accepted meaning behind PTFO has come to be known as "Passed The Fuck Out," an activity which numerous members have engaged in during long nights spent leveling and/or leeching. The name carries with it a slight double entendre, however. Originally, during one of RTFO's customary nonsense chats, the phrase "Pantsu The Fuck Off... NOW" came into being as members were discussing what to name the alternate guild. The meaning has since become PTFO's private official description. Aside from having an amusing guild emblem (striped pantsu in 2.0, some random flower in 3.0) and being a convenient storage place for neglected characters, PTFO failed to accomplish much on the server.
With the advent of PSIBlade 3.0, Team PTFO was recreated and has since taken on a more proactive role in WoE, capturing several castles before the guild castle limit was removed.
- Strife Delivery Service (PSIBlade 3.0)
This guild is a secret.
- Destiny (PSIBlade 3.0)
Icetron's personal guild with a Gundam SEED Destiny tint, created with a spare Emperium.
- SOS Brigade (PSIBlade 3.0)
This guild is also a secret.
Emblem
Throughout their RO history, GFF members have used a variety of different emblems for their various guilds.
The guild emblem, originally proposed by Bunny Love and created by Bigblah, has been unchanged since the days of MobRO. It was taken from an interface icon for Warcraft III (Undead Acolyte Unsummon), and resized to 24x24.
Due to the emblem, members of Team RTFO have occasionally been mistaken for metal fans.
A cute pair of striped pantsu, perfectly embodying the ideals of Team PTFO: that pantsu are, uh... nice. Off. Created by Icetron.
Secret.
The original emblem for the Gamingforce guild, created by Benjamin.
Gamingforce's original guild emblem was later replaced by this one, created on request by Arc Impulse. The reason cited for the switch was simply "it's more hilarious".
The emblem is from Gundam SEED Destiny. Although there is a Mobile Suit named Destiny in the series, this emblem is actually the head of the ZAFT Mobile Suit ZGMF-X56S Impulse Gundam. This is because Icetron's character, the guild leader, is named Lunamaria who pilots the Impulse Gundam in the series. Made by Icetron.

Team RTFO in Other Games
Ogame
Prior to Team RTFO's first appearance on PSIBlade 2.0, the group was assembled by many of the same players in the online game Ogame (http://www.ogame.org/), a large multiplayer space fleet/resources simulator. The game enjoyed relative popularity among the GFF populace, drawing in members of many different interests who would gather in #ogame to discuss strategy and the latest Ogame news.
The alliance formed from this interest was first known as Gamingforce, formed by Axalian. A month later, however, people within Ogame begin to lose interest as they come under attack by players that send fleets that were almost impossible to defeat (and thus lost hours worth of resources) or due to the slowness of the game. Internal conflicts occured about this time, and soon after Axalian began to become inactive, more active and willing members decided to abandon the Gamingforce alliance. This led to the birth of the Team RTFO alliance, formed by SonnyD64.
This alliance lasted for a few months as people began to grow stronger and new players joined. However, during the course of the game, it was reported that SonnyD64 suddenly went into vacation mode, and suffered a huge drop in points. This caused a slow chain reaction of people abandoning Ogame altogether as people once again lost interest in the game or could no longer see the point in continuing on as they fell under constant raids by stronger players, effectively paralysing almost any possible progress in the game.
This continued on until Kari-Chan, known in Ogame as Karistar, was essentially the only active member left in the Team RTFO alliance.
Trickster Online
During the Summer of 2006, many members of RTFO who had the time to remain moderately active on PSIBlade tried out the beta of Trickster Online, another MMORPG that has many similarities with Ragnarok despite a different look and feel. This endeavor proved unsatisfying--Trickster was often too easy or too simple in comparison to Ragnarok; support for the game within RTFO waned fairly quickly, much to the delight of some members that felt lonely during the sudden void on PSIBlade.
Worms: Armageddon
Upon the suggestion of Sakabadger, most RTFO members acquired Worms: Armageddon and began attempting to pull off crazy ninja rope tricks for massive victory. Team RTFO plays Worms: Armageddon over a private Hamachi channel, since Wormnet is an enormous pile of recycled diapers. Latency issues still occasionally plague gameplay in Worms, causing all players to violently curse (with serious intention to cause permanent emotional damage) any person suspected to be causing the lag. Competition in the game is handled in a very similar manner; negative comments on the performance of other players (and pheo's girth) must be made to ensure that the Armageddon gods are pleased with the match and, thereby, allow subsequent matches to occur without castration of its players. Female players, therefore, are always in favor of the Armageddon gods, possibly due to tits.

Quotes
- YUBANGAWOOOOOOOOO
Team RTFO's official battlecry, derived from one of the Aldebaran guild castles (Hohensyubangawoo). Some deviation exists on the amount of O's and exclamation marks, but regardless of spelling it is always delivered the exact same way: through lots and lots of hotkey spamming.
