Talking about the Mighty Red Fish is always a sensible task, as this is one of these topics where myths and facts often come together. Plus, it can also get you killed, depending on your auditors' beliefs.

Facts

The Secret Mighty Red Fish Brotherhood signature logo ...

The first official record of a Mighty Red Fish appearance goes back to April 2003 and took place at the Gamingforce Forums. On April Fool's Day 2003, Niki, a usually pretty moderate person, suddenly claims to be the prophet and martial commander of a superior entity. Taking advantage of the April Fools chaos and with the use of much propaganda, he rallies many people to his cause and battles occurs between the Mighty Red Fish followers and the defenders of the old cults, such as N7G. At the end of the day, the issue of the war isnt so clear, but the Fish cult is now respected and feared. Asking his legions to act in the shadows from now on, the Secret Fish Brotherhood is forged by niki on that night. The task of it's members is to "Praise Teh Red Mighty Fish daily, and act for the preparation of his return".

And return he will. On April Fool's Day 2004, Teh Fish is back and it turns out many followers remained faithful to their oath. The battle is far less epic than the 2003 one though, as GFF is already rotten from the inside by decadence and the loss of respect for old cults. The victory is flawless, but by far less glorious.

Teh Fish did not show up on April Fool's Day 2005, eventhough some isolated fanatics did mention him. It is explained by some by General Niki's "disturbing lack of faith"...

Evidence of an ancestral Red Fish cult

Eventhough much has been said about TMRF cult, it's religious beliefs remain quite nebulous to this day. According to it's followers, the MR Fish is an almighty entity living in a rich palace under the sea. Wether the MR Fish is considered a deity, or a plain really strong and huge fish is also unknown. What we do know is that the cult holds a strong veneration for war and martial abilities and refers quite often to destruction and chaos. The Fish also occasionaly appears with fellow undersea monsters, which while remaining clearly inferior to him, hint to a multi-deity religious system ala ancient Rome. Niki being French, we shall also note that "poisson d'avril" (April's fish) is the term used in France to describe a joke made on the 1st of April and derives from the Christian Easter symbol: the Fish.

Combining all this, we could say the Mighty Red Fish Cult is a sort of multi-deitist-neo-christian-nihilist-naturalist-martial religious model, which is the definition specialists agree on to this day.
