Testing Forum (http://www.gamingforce.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=43)
[edit]
History
A forum where members could test out a variety of forum features. The forum did not add to postcount, so threads would be made testing one feature, then a variety of useless posts would ensue. Testing poll limits and 40 lined marquee'd posts were among favourites.
Later on, this was closed for a year or so, and then reopened after the board crash of Feb. 2006.

Notable Threads
- TubeRacer is who most find responsible for the closure of the Testing Forum, with such annoying threads as WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWwWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW... (http://www.gamingforce.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26341), which was intended to stretch the page's tables. It was successful in providing a good laugh at the expense of all those who were bothered by it but later had the title edited down to cater to those few whose monitor resolutions could not exceed 800x600.
- Another good example is the Your search found 37,129,853 results. (http://www.gamingforce.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29656) series of threads, in which TubeRacer (and other members who joined in after) would copy and paste large pages from Gamingforce, popular news/gaming sites, and anything else they could think of in order to get the GFF search engine to bring up the thread in otherwise unsuccessful searches.
- NYRSkate Temporarily increased the smilie-per-post limit to about 60,000. A smilie spree followed consiting of mostly posts with 800+ emoticons. This is the only known time that users have caused a server slowdown.
- Contrary to unpopular belief, the Midnight Rave thread had nothing to do with the Testing Forum in any way.
- World's longest thread, parts 1 and 2. Both filled with unbelievable amounts of fail, and virtually killed all other testing forum activity. Part 2 had its name changed to "Cock appreciation thread. If you love the cock, post here." A definite improvement, to be sure.
