Like most pre-vBulletin Gamingforce members, the exact date The Mighty Tor joined in 2000 is forgotten. He did, however, write a review on Final Fantasy VIII Piano Collections for GFA (released January 2000) and that gives us a hint.

Tor was best known for his ragged Super Street Fighter II Ryu, his complete lack of paragraph usage, and his long, though always excellent, posts. It could be said that if he had hung around longer he would've easily won the award for Most Longwinded Member, but Tor didn't simply write out huge posts that could've been summed down to a few lines, everything he said formed the perfect image of his thoughts and what he wanted to get across. Instead of endlessly shoving the same worn-out point in your face, it opened up discussion to many more possibilities.

But not far into 2001 Tor decided to leave. He was tired of having his posts glossed over by members who, on average, had no reading comprehension. He felt the board dynamic had changed too much and left after a farewell post. Many posters (such as a_lurker and OctoberOmicron) were devastated by this loss, but fortunately to this day Tor can be found on AIM.

Roughly in August of 2002 Tor made a secret return as the member Psychic Sandwich. His purpose in doing so was to see how the new dynamic of Gamingforce would react to his style. This brief comeback was punctuated by a debate with Mortis about MP3 licensing fees (in which Bigblah was kind enough to let Mortis know he was out of his league) and a role in the debate about the temporary demodding (by staff) of San, Skexis, and Sword Serenity. During this period Tor also ran an FTP. Dogmatix Man (and, after another of their friendly Capcom vs. SNK debates; IoriYagami_n8) was the only member to officially know about Tor's identify, though he was heavily suspected by a few who had been around during Tor's original stint.

  • The Mighty Tor's retirement speech was on his 300th post.
  • Psychic Sandwich? Tor may have been slightly psychic himself, bailing out in 2001 just before the mess bobo releasing Gamingforce Audio 3 created.
  • Tor's handle comes from the Ator l'invincible remake: Quest for the Mighty Sword. "The Mighty" being added as a natural extension.
