Biography

Screenname history: Traumatized Rat is the AIM screenname which was chosen since the usual 'paulieparrot' one was already taken within the chat service. The name is an inside joke from an 'Behavioral Neuroscience' class the member took back in his first Undergrad degree.

Originally hailing from the squaresound forums, this member was requested to join GFF by another member with the sole interest of being asked to take part in a political palace debate. Aside from one or two posts the account was left inactive up until August of 2004, when his chocojournal was activated. At this point in time, there was a brief stint of activity as a nonoffensive rank and file member which quickly was terminated due to scholarly obligations.

Round 1: The Fiery Debut A few months later during the end of November / beginning of December the official fiery debut was made complete with the obligatory GFF n00b hazing. This came about largely because of culture shock. Of course, most regulars understand the period of acclimatization which is necessary for new members to begin to get a feel for how the community functions. TR was used to a much more laid back community where people engaged in a much more serious / cordial exchange. Trolling was strictly prohibited as was flaming. In this much more laid back environment TR responded much to eagerly to a trolling attempt by A Lurker which resulted in a huge flame war. Simultaneously, a Political Palace debate was frying on in which the fledgeling noob also partook in. He was shocked and otherwised stunned at the outright agression shown by members in which the debate was much more a battle of wits then the competition of logic. In frustration, the new member retreated to lick his wounds.

Round 2: If you can't beat 'em, join 'em During spring break time up until the beginning of April, TR began to attempt to fit into the unique societal structure of GFF. He figured that by picking on n00bs as had been done to him he could 'mingle'. For the most part this strategy was effective but eventually, he once again got noticed and this time it deteriorated into a mild confrontation with Sass. At this point, he was basically told to forge his own identity rather than just being a nonconstructive and useless member.

Round 3: Forging an identity From here on, TR has formed ties with a number of members in the community and has attempted to remain as active as possible within the Concert Hall, helping fellow musicians as well as taking part in a healthy amount of journal drama. Currently, his community participation is at an alltime low due to the huge demands of his musical education.

Drama

Mostly journal drama. TR has a strong sense of justice and thus, finds the rediculous amount of GFF Hazing to be distasteful. First real drama experience was defending Chris (Kornbix V2.0) because of the unfairness with which Lord Styphon had executed his permanent ban. The results were not favorable. He was a big part of the Sir VG Pedophile drama as well as the Cuddleslut capers of Eurydice. Largely a defender of the weak, this has brought him under the purifying fire of a Lurker on occasion.

Also notable was the SpicyChick drama. TR (along with peeack) picked on her before it was cool. This was accomplished mostly by parody of her rediculously bad spelling and grammar. A fictional device dubbed the 'ratty translator' was employed to enact these translations where-in her AOL-esque grammar was paraphrased using university level semi-formal english.

TR is neither an opponent nor a proponant of fist. Rather, he is always lurking on the sidelines, attempting to add fuel to the fire by egging both sides on. In reality, he is friends with both RABicle and Robo Jesus which makes for some very interesting situations.
